Watercolor How-To's in Landscape Paintings - a One Day Workshop with artist Kathy Becker (Silver Bay watercolor instructor). With step-by-step instruction, in a relaxed atmosphere, we will learn tips of the trade. We will draw to lay out our composition, learn the basics of how to use and mix watercolors. Wet on wet and dry brush techniques will be explored in a realistic impressionism style.

Learn about working with pastels and create a landscape painting.

Wednesday, July 26th 10:00am-12:00pm: Figure Drawing Class with Fred Holman

People tell me they can’t draw a stick figure. Well, if you can draw a circle, a square and a triangle, you can not only draw a stick figure, you can draw the figure itself. Join Fred Holman and learn some easy approaches to drawing figures.

Sunday's: July 16th, July 23rd, July 30th, and August 6th 1:00pm-4:00pm: Pottery Classes with Laurie Sapakoff and Seddon Beaty

A collaborative offering by Ti Arts & Silver Bay Association. This class is for students with no or little clay experience who are interested in learning basic skills at the potter's wheel for creating functional work. Demonstrations will cover wedging, centering, and forming shapes. Each student will have guided practice at a wheel. There will not be a product to take home. 4 Sessions: You can sign up for 1,2,3,or 4 sessions.

Monday, August 14th 1:00pm-4:00pm: Writing/Drawing Class with Bernice Mennis

Materials will be provided by the gallery, but if you have a favorite pen, marker, or pencil please bring. In this workshop we will allow our different senses to move between words and visual arts. Synesthesia happens when one sense –sight or small or sound- triggers another sense –an almost blending of senses that happens often in poetry and with the visual arts-and was I think quite common in our childhood. In this workshop we will open the door to writers and artists traveling between two forms to get closer to an experience and see where we are led.

Sunday, August 20th 1:00pm-4:00pm: Bead Class with Maria Clara Castano

During this class you will make 2 pieces of jewelry. Choices will be bracelet, earrings, or glasses holder

Sunday, August 27th 1:00pm-2:30pm: Printing Class with Merribeth Elling

Gyotaku (Gee-o-ta-koo) is the Japanese art form of fish printing. It was developed for fishermen to keep record of the fish they caught. Merribeth will provide an introduction to the art form of gyotaku and will demonstrate the printing process. Using acrylic paint and a rubber animal forms, participants will print a fish, frogs, or a turtle on fabric. Please bring a piece of fabric to print on: tee-shirt, tote bag, apron, pillow case, etc. Best if prewashed with no fabric softener. Dress to mess!
